Donnie Lewis

Donald "Donnie" Lewis of Athens, Texas, is a staff pharmacist at Malakoff Pharmacy and Hope Cancer Center in Tyler.  He has an extensive career in pharmacy of over 40 years and has been the owner of two pharmacies and has had many years of experience in hospital and chain pharmacy operations.  Along with his professional interests, he owns and operates McNair Farm that hosts weddings and events. Over the years, he has been integral in development of commercial properties as well as developing his interest in real estate of ranches and farms as an agent with Republic Ranches, LLC.

Donnie was on the Athens City Council for 10 years and has served on many local boards that included the University of Texas East Board of Managers (formerly East Texas Medical Center-Athens.) 

Just recently, Donnie reinstituted a 501c3 non-profit organization named The Pendulum Project which helps to educate students in job training, particularly in the culinary field. Using his pharmacy background, he volunteers with Medical Missions International to provide pharmaceutical services to patients in remote Ecuador and Peru.

Donnie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Houston graduating in 1975.  He enjoys land management, traveling, flying single engine airplanes, Bible Study Fellowship, and entertaining guests on his farm.
