Information on Temporary Pharmacy Technician Registration

Governor Abbott has requested that the Board work with pharmacy technicians to expedite the issuance of temporary licenses for out-of-state licensed pharmacy technicians who are needed by Texas pharmacies to aid in the Texas Disaster Recovery effort.

If you are a pharmacy technician with an active license in another state, you may apply for a temporary pharmacy technician license.  The temporary license will allow you to work for a period up to 6 months.

Note: These instructions do not apply to pharmacy technicians enrolled in a volunteer health registry maintained by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
