Cyberattack Information and Response | December 1, 2023

The Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) is aware of the cyberattack regarding Ardent Health Services that is affecting facilities including UT Health East Texas. The safety of the citizens of Texas is our primary concern in regard to this issue. Until December 15, 2023, TSBP will recognize the previous version of the official prescription form that was no longer valid as of June 1, 2019, referred to by some as the “green form,” as a valid official prescription form. This is intended to be a short-term, temporary solution to allow prescribers to continue patient care until prescribers are able to obtain current official prescription forms or electronic prescribing capabilities are restored. Prescribers may also continue to authorize emergency oral or telephonically communicated prescriptions and not later than the seventh day after the date of the authorization deliver an electronic prescription or official prescription form to the dispensing pharmacy.
